Job summary

FirstService Residential in Fort Lauderdale, FL is hiring a Maintenance Staff Member to ensure mechanical systems and common areas are well-maintained and inviting. The role involves on-site duties, safety adherence, and collaboration with building staff.

The position is full-time with a schedule Mon-Fri 8:00am-4:30pm and occasional on-call emergencies. Prior maintenance experience and strong communication are valued; multilingual candidates are encouraged to apply.

Qualifications

• 2 years general experience in building trades, repair, and maintenance.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong customer service and interpersonal skills.
• Multilingual abilities desirable.

Responsibilities

• Walk floors and roofs to identify problems and report to supervisors.
• Ensure safety procedures are followed during all tasks.
• Maintain relationships with building staff.
• Paint common areas and touch up as needed, inspect areas needing paint and inform manager.
• Complete daily work orders as scheduled and maintain equipment in good condition.
• Assist with lifting/moving heavy items and follow safety procedures.
• Perform minor maintenance and repairs in carpentry, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, painting, flooring, and other building areas.
• Follow safety protocols to maintain a safe work environment.
• Carry out maintenance tasks without requiring permits where allowed.
• Learn to use new equipment safely.
