Job summary

General Mills, at its Blue Buffalo Richmond, IN facility, is seeking a Maintenance Technician for the night shift. You will install, maintain and repair industrial machinery, troubleshoot complex systems, and support continuous improvement in a fast-paced food manufacturing environment.

The role requires 3+ years of industrial maintenance, PLC/electrical knowledge, and ability to work nights with overtime. The plant operates 24/7 and offers comprehensive benefits and a strong safety culture.

Qualifications

• Requires high school diploma or GED and 3+ years industrial maintenance experience.
• Strong mechanical knowledge and understanding of PLCs, electrical motors, gears, and troubleshooting.
• Experience repairing/troubleshooting AC/DC electrical systems; reading schematics; using electrical testing equipment.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical tasks in a manufacturing environment.
• Willingness to work 2nd shift with overtime, weekends, and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Install, maintain, repair, and replace industrial processing and packaging machinery and equipment.
• Identify and troubleshoot mechanical issues and provide technical support for equipment modifications.
• Design and layout circuits, install wiring conduits, motors, and electrical components; use multimeter for testing.
• Perform sheet metal fabrication and MIG/TIG/arc welding as needed.
• Participate in root cause analysis and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance performance.
