Job summary

General Mills is hiring a Pre-Side Operations Technician for the Richmond, IN facility. The role supports extrusion and batching, operating and maintaining extrusion and meat processing equipment, and ensuring batch quality from raw materials to finished products.

You will work with experienced teams, follow safety and regulatory standards, collect data, and help drive continuous improvement while training newer staff and covering shifts as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Experience operating machines in manufacturing preferred.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical tasks.
• Forklift license/certification or willingness to obtain one.
• Comfort with basic computer systems and digital workflows.

Responsibilities

• Process raw materials into finished products safely supporting extrusion and batching.
• Operate, troubleshoot, and maintain meat processing and milling equipment.
• Monitor batch systems, formulas, and grind quality to ensure consistency.
• Document test data and analyze results to solve process issues.
• Assist with sanitation, cross-training, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Support operators and provide coverage when needed.
