Job summary

Equity Residential offers a Maintenance Technician Apprentice program in NY or NJ, training you in HVAC, plumbing, appliances, and electrical work over 14 weeks with hands-on and classroom instruction.

Upon successful completion, you are promoted to Maintenance Technician at a property with a current vacancy. Expected hours are Monday–Friday, 9am–6pm, with strong teamwork and a commitment to learning.

Qualifications

• Must demonstrate mechanical aptitude and ability to perform physical tasks.
• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Flexible schedule including weekends may be required.
• Willingness to learn and complete hands-on training.

Responsibilities

• Partner with service team for on-the-job training.
• Observe and learn maintenance processes.
• Operate light equipment under supervision.
• Perform maintenance tasks and gain hands-on experience.
• Learn computer software used by the service team.
• Schedule: Mon-Fri, 9am-6pm.
