Job summary

Vivmark Residential is seeking a Maintenance Technician Apprentice in the NY/NJ area to train with our property management team on HVAC, plumbing, appliances, and electrical work. Over 14 weeks you will receive hands-on instruction and classroom training, with the goal of promotion to a Maintenance Technician at a property with a current vacancy.

Qualifications

• General ability to demonstrate mechanical aptitude.
• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Availability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends.
• Must be able to respond to emergencies after hours and on weekends with after-hours contact.
• Valid driver’s license, good driving record, auto insurance, and reliable transportation if operating a vehicle.
• Ability to communicate effectively in English, both orally and in writing.
• Ability to perform physical tasks including lifting up to 50 lbs.
• Use of smartphones for certain job aspects per company policy.

Responsibilities

• Partner with service team members for on-the-job training.
• Observe and learn a wide range of maintenance skills and processes.
• Operate light equipment for basic repairs under supervision.
• Demonstrate skills by working independently or with a team as training progresses.
• Perform maintenance tasks to gain hands-on experience.
• Learn computer software applications used by the service team.
• Maintain on-site readiness and professionalism during scheduled hours.
