Job summary
Equity Residential is seeking a Maintenance Technician to address resident service requests, perform hands-on maintenance, and ensure market-ready apartments. You will also handle preventative maintenance and upkeep of common areas, reporting concerns as needed.
The role requires troubleshooting skills in plumbing, electrical, appliances, HVAC (if applicable), and interior repairs. A valid driver’s license and strong communication are essential for daily operations.
Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent required.
- Troubleshoot and repair plumbing, electrical, appliances, and HVAC; interior repairs and painting preferred.
- Knowledge of federal & state apartment housing laws.
- Valid driver's license, good driving record, auto insurance, and reliable transportation for vehicle operation.
- Computer literacy and clear English communication (oral & written).
- Willing to work any shift, including weekends and on-call emergencies.
Responsibilities
- Promptly address resident service requests.
- Perform hands-on maintenance tasks (plumbing, electrical, etc.).
- Prepare market-ready apartments and maintain community grounds.
- Conduct regular inspections to identify repairs or replacements.
