Job summary

Madison Communities in Tennessee is seeking a Maintenance Technician to support our apartment communities. You’ll perform painting, plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry and general repairs, ensuring units are safe and move-in ready.

Your hands-on proficiency, proactive attitude and strong communication will help deliver an outstanding resident experience across our Southeast properties.

Qualifications

• HVAC, plumbing, electrical, carpentry and mechanical know-how.
• 1+ year of maintenance experience, preferably multifamily.
• Certifications (HVAC, EPA, CPO) are a plus; high school diploma or equivalent required.

Responsibilities

• Provide outstanding resident service and teammate communication.
• Perform day-to-day maintenance including painting, plumbing, electrical fixes, HVAC, carpentry, and general repairs.
• Respond promptly to service requests with professionalism.
• Ensure apartments are safe, functional, and move-in ready.
• Coordinate with vendors on specialty projects like landscaping and asphalt repairs.
• Keep tools and work areas organized and safe.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Providing outstanding customer service to residents and teammates
• Handling day-to-day maintenance including painting, plumbing, electrical fixtures, HVAC, carpentry, and general repairs
• Responding quickly and professionally to service requests
• Ensuring apartments are safe, functional, and move-in ready
• Working with vendors on specialized projects like landscaping and asphalt repairs
• Keeping tools, equipment, and work areas safe and organized

What We’re Looking For

• Working knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and mechanical systems
• A positive, proactive attitude and strong work ethic
• Team-oriented mindset with solid communication skills
• 1+ year of maintenance experience (multifamily preferred)
• Certifications (HVAC, EPA, CPO) are a plus
• Must be at least 18 years old with a high school diploma or equivalent
