Maintenance Technician (All Shifts Available)

In the role of Maintenance Technician Trainee, you will perform a broad range of maintenance and repair activities to ensure the warehouse operates effectively and efficiently. Maintaining a professional culture on site and a commitment to Health & Safety, in line with company values, is essential.

Roles and Responsibilities

1. Ensure all equipment is maintained according to supplier guidelines, including conveyors, cranes, refrigeration systems (evaporators and condensers), fire protection, freezer doors, pallet-handling equipment, dock doors, and other mechanical systems.
2. Perform planned preventative maintenance and repairs in a timely and safe manner, minimizing impact on normal operations.
3. Communicate with Planners and System Operators regarding equipment downtime.

Core Tasks

• Perform planned preventative maintenance with minimal impact on operations.
• Troubleshoot, repair, and replace components in conveyors, cranes, pneumatic and hydraulic equipment, and other mechanical systems.
• Address issues with control systems, low-voltage, and high-voltage electrical systems.
• Coordinate repairs with Planners and System Operators to ensure effective scheduling.
• Set up and operate machine tools such as milling machines, grinders, and drills for repairs or fabrication.
• Operate cutting torches and welding equipment for metal work.
• Ensure all actions conform to OSHA, FSDA, and other safety regulations to maintain a safe working environment.
• Test fire suppression systems, fire alarms, and ammonia alarms as required by local regulations.
• Monitor and optimize the performance of ammonia refrigeration systems.
• Understand equipment service agreements and warranties.
• Coordinate with suppliers for warranty claims, maintenance, and repairs.
• Use maintenance software to report, plan, and track issues.
• Maintain accurate records of spare parts and tools.
• Perform general facility maintenance, including minor plumbing, electrical, lighting, and building repairs.

Requirements

• 2-5 years of experience in industrial maintenance or related fields.
• Hands-on mechanical, electrical, and facilities maintenance background.
• Experience with automated equipment (conveyors, cranes, palletizers, ASRS) is highly preferred.
• PLC experience is a plus.

Education/Certification

• High School Degree.
• Associate's degree or equivalent training.
