BluePearl Pet Hospital is hiring experienced Veterinary Technicians for our busy Emergency and Critical Care department.

Pay:

$21 - $42 per hour

This pay band is a starting point and depends on experience and advancement through our leveling system.

Role Overview:

The Veterinary Technician role is an exciting, fast-paced opportunity to utilize and expand your skills while working alongside talented veterinary professionals.

As an Emergency Veterinary Technician, you will:

1. Induce, monitor, and recover anesthesia, using anesthesia/monitoring equipment.
2. Triage emergency cases upon arrival, including obtaining vital signs such as temperature, heart rate, respiratory rate, and blood pressure.
3. Perform digital radiography with proper technique and patient positioning.
4. Understand normal ranges of vital signs and alert Veterinarian to changes.
5. Obtain and interpret blood pressure and other vital signs.
6. Identify patients at risk for arrest and initiate CPR.
7. Calculate medical dosages accurately, including infusions, and administer medications appropriately.
8. Perform phlebotomy and place intravenous catheters in peripheral vessels.
9. Place and maintain feeding tubes and central line catheters.
10. Mentor and train colleagues.
11. Address client concerns with patience and empathy.
