Job summary

International Paper in Newton, NC is seeking a Maintenance Technician for the 2-2-3 shift. The role emphasizes installation, troubleshooting, preventative maintenance, cleaning, and repair of containerboard plant machinery and equipment.

You will operate drill presses, grinders, band saws, milling machines and welding equipment, perform part replacements, lubrication, and testing to ensure safe, reliable operation.

Qualifications

• Experience in maintenance within a production/manufacturing environment.
• Knowledge of mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical and electronic systems.
• Ability to operate power tools and machine shop equipment.

Responsibilities

• Install, troubleshoot, perform preventive maintenance, clean and repair containerboard plant machinery and equipment.
• Dismantle devices to access faulty parts and replace them.
• Inspect parts, adjust mechanisms, lubricate, test performance.
• Operate metalworking tools and test systems after maintenance.
• Move and transport heavy parts using mechanical aids.
• Work overtime as needed for maintenance needs.
