JOB DESCRIPTION:

The Maintenance Technician ensures operation of machinery and mechanical equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements on engines, motors, pneumatic tools, conveyor systems, and production machines; following diagrams, sketches, operations manuals, manufacturer's instructions, and engineering specifications; troubleshooting malfunctions.

Schedule:

10:00 PM - 6:30 AM

Monday - Thursday and every other Friday, Saturday, and Sunday

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Follow and comply with applicable good manufacturing, safety, and quality assurance practices.
2. Perform mechanic skills including, but not limited to, mechanical, electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic troubleshooting and repair of packaging and production machines.
3. Locate sources of problems by observing mechanical devices in operation; listening for problems; using precision measuring and testing instruments.
4. Perform preventative maintenance.
5. Operate powered industrial vehicles which may include forklifts, scissor lifts, and floor scrubbers.
6. Other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Position Requirements

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

1. Attention to detail and good organizational skills.
2. Ability to adapt effectively within a continually changing and demanding environment.
3. Basic understanding of equipment operations, and minor troubleshooting ability.
4. Must be able to demonstrate an ability and willingness to communicate effectively in order to maintain high levels of safety, quality, and efficiency.
5. Ability to read and comprehend standard operating procedures and company guidelines in order to maintain regulatory compliance.
6. Able to obtain licenses for and operate powered industrial equipment at a safe level.
7. Knowledge of HMI (Human/Machine Interface) systems.
8. Basic understanding of 120/240VAC electrical systems and low voltage DC and control wiring.
9. Must be able to climb ladders and work from heights.
10. Perform operational maintenance duties such as: painting, lubrication, minor piping repairs, valve, and pump repair, etc.

Education/Experience:

1. High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED).
2. Industrial, construction, and/or mechanical experience preferred.
