Summary

Installs, troubleshoots, repairs, modifies, rebuilds, and performs preventive/predictive maintenance on all production machinery, automated and electrical systems.

3rd Shift hours: 9:30 pm - 7:30 am, Sunday-Thursday

Principal and Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Perform regular adjustments, calibrations, and repairs responding to department demands during production and non-production hours.
• Respond promptly to emergency breakdowns following OSHA Lockout/Tagout and safety regulations.
• Address management concerns regarding equipment performance, informing supervisors of modifications or malfunctions affecting operations.
• Maintain log books, calibrate machinery to performance standards using math skills.
• Provide hands-on training and guidance to lower-level mechanics and technicians, including leading and monitoring their work, attendance, start-ups, and set-ups.

Experience Preferred

Minimum of 6 months of consecutive work history with one employer within the past 3 years.

Minimum Education

High School diploma or equivalent.

Experience Requirements

4+ years. Must have reading, writing, and analytical skills. Personal tools required at all times. Ability to operate hand tools and industrial equipment. Knowledge of math related to maintenance activities, including calculations for repairs, verifying dimensions, and troubleshooting using precision measuring instruments.

Environmental Factors and Physical Requirements

• Active position involving troubleshooting and redesign on the plant floor.
• Occasional equipment movement.
• Access to files, supplies, and equipment.
• Ability to move throughout the plant facilities.
• Exposure to wet, moist floors, temperatures from 28°F to 100°F, humidity, noise levels, and chemicals used in poultry processing. Use of protective equipment required.
