Job summary

Canam Steel Corporation is seeking self-motivated maintenance personnel for the 3rd shift in Point of Rocks, MD. The role focuses on preventive and general maintenance with strong emphasis on electrical components and safety compliance.

Responsibilities include mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic work, basic welding and fabrication, reading blueprints, and installing/moving equipment. Candidates must follow lockout/tagout and work well in a team or alone.

Qualifications

• Must have extensive mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic experience.
• Able to perform basic stick and wire feed welding.
• Able to perform basic fabricating.
• Able to perform basic electrical troubleshooting and have a general knowledge of controls.
• Able to install and move machinery.
• Follow lockout/tagout procedures per OSHA standards.

Responsibilities

• Ensure continued production by completing preventive and general maintenance and emergency service, with emphasis on electrical components.
• Read blueprints and interpret electrical and controls schematics.
• Install, move, and align machinery; perform basic electrical troubleshooting.
• Maintain safety through proper lockout/tagout and housekeeping practices.

We are looking for self-motivated and safety-conscious candidates who would like to join our production team.

3rd Shift Schedule

Monday-Friday 10pm-6:30am

Career Summary:
Ensure s continued production operations by completing preventive maintenance, general maintenance, and emergency service, with a strong emphasis on electrical components . Ensures the site facility and equipment are all in proper working order while abiding by all specified rules and regulations.

• Must have extensive mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic experience .

• A ble to perform basic electrical troubleshooting and have a general knowledge of controls .

Anticipated Pay Range

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
• General controls and electrical troubleshooting .
• E xtensive knowledge of mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatics .
• A ble to perform basic stick and wire feed welding .
• Must be able to learn the basic functions of all plant equipment .
• Must have basic knowledge of lockout tag out and proper PPE.

Physical Requirements:

• Regularly required to stand; walk; sit; handle objects, tools, controls and reach with hands and arms; climb and balance; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.
• Regularly required lifting and/or moving up to 65 pounds.
• Specific vision abilities required by this job include: close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus . Must have normal color vision.
• Regularly works near moving mechanical parts; in high, precarious places and in outside weather conditions.
• Regularly exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, fumes or airborne particles, toxic chemicals, extreme cold, extreme heats and risk of electrical shock.
• The noise level in the work environment is usually very loud.
