Job summary

Smurfit Westrock is seeking an Electro-Mechanical Technician to provide safe, timely mechanical and electrical support in our manufacturing facility. Primary duties include installation, service, repair, troubleshooting, and preventative maintenance on multiple operating machines.

The ideal candidate has 2-3 years of electro-mechanical automation experience, knowledge of hydraulics and pneumatics, familiarity with CMMS, and ability to read electrical and mechanical drawings.

Qualifications

• 2-3 years of Electro-Mechanical Automation System Installation & Troubleshooting Experience.
• Operational knowledge of automated industrial machinery incl. motors, servos, pumps, drives, relays, 3-phase power, controls.
• Good understanding of hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
• Strong PLC troubleshooting and problem-solving ability with mechanical and electrical aptitude.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical and mechanical drawings.
• Fully computer literate with Microsoft environment.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Primary duties include providing safe and timely mechanical and electrical support, preventative maintenance, installation, service, repair, troubleshooting, and resolution of multiple operating machines within a manufacturing industrial environment. The ideal candidate will have mechanical and electrical experience, a familiarity with hydraulics and pneumatics, experience with CMMS (computer maintenance management systems), work order creation and closing, parts research, organizational skills, and have basic troubleshooting experience with proven ability of machine repair.

What You Need To Succeed

• Ability to work various shifts / overtime / days per week.

• Ability to take initiative and complete tasks without continuous supervision

• Experience in rigging, alignment, precision tools for predictive maintenance, and lubrication

Job Requirements

• Experience working in a fast-paced, manufacturing environment
• Corrugated box manufacturing experience a plus
• A strong desire to advance within the facility
• High School diploma or GED equivalent
• Offer contingent on passing background screening and drug screen.
