Job summary

Quanex is seeking a Maintenance Technician for the 3rd shift (Sunday-Thursday, 10:45pm-7:00am) to maintain and repair production equipment. You will diagnose issues, implement improvements, and collaborate with maintenance and production teams to keep lines running safely and efficiently.

Qualifications include HS Diploma with a Technical Degree preferred and 3–5 years in manufacturing, plus PLC troubleshooting, electrical, reading schematics, and ability to work 480V.

Qualifications

  • 3-5 years related experience in manufacturing setting
  • PLC troubleshooting and modification experience
  • Basic knowledge of pneumatic, hydraulic systems
  • Basic knowledge of Chilled water systems
  • Basic knowledge of HVAC systems
  • Strong Electrical experience
  • Print Reading
  • Wiring
  • Troubleshooting
  • Detail Oriented, professional, and flexible to the requirement of each project
  • Dependable, Reliable, Responsible
  • Must be driven and self-motivated
  • Ability to complete written reports

Responsibilities

  • Perform required maintenance of all equipment
  • Assist in the implementation of new equipment and improvements & troubleshooting to existing equipment
  • Communicate effectively with maintenance and production staff to resolve maintenance issues in a timely manner
  • Track and report maintenance issues or future reference
  • Follow safety procedures and guidelines along with assisting in modifying and updating procedures
  • Ensure compound retains are rotated accordingly
  • Continually be advised of equipment updates and operational issues and take action as needed
  • Perform other duties as requested, directed, or assigned
  • Ability to diagnose failed components and safely work on voltages up to 480V
  • Ability to read electrical and mechanical schematics
  • Support general maintenance activities as needed
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule including off shifts and weekends as needed
  • Continued education-internal & external training opportunities
  • Handle and resolve problems
  • Perform any other work-related functions as requested by Management
  • General housekeeping and perform daily/weekly 5S duties
  • Operate forklift/fill out daily forklift checklist when needed

What Success Looks Like:

Your Credentials:

Hourly Rate of pay is commensurate with experience and electrical assessment conducted by Quanex beginning at $25.00/hr. + $1.00 Shift Differential for 2 nd & 3 rd shifts.

3 rd shift Sunday-Thursday - 10:45pm - 7:00am
