Pretium Packaging is seeking a Facilities Maintenance Technician to ensure reliable operation of plant utility systems and facility infrastructure. Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required; technical certification or associate degree in industrial maintenance, HVAC, or related field preferred.
  • 3-7 years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably plastics, injection molding, or blow molding.
  • Experience with industrial utilities including compressed air, chillers, and HVAC systems required.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills in mechanical, electrical, and utility systems.
  • Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals.
  • Experience using CMMS systems preferred.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Ability to prioritize work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Effective communication and teamwork skills.
  • Self-motivated with strong attention to detail.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair compressed air systems including compressors, dryers, receivers, and distribution piping.
  • Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on industrial chillers, cooling towers, pumps, and process water systems.
  • Maintain HVAC systems including rooftop units, air handlers, exhaust systems, and environmental controls to support production and facility comfort.
  • Monitor system performance to ensure optimal efficiency and reliability.
  • Respond quickly to utility failures to minimize production downtime.
  • Perform maintenance and repairs on building infrastructure including lighting, electrical distribution (within scope), plumbing, walls, floors, and ceilings.
  • Maintain dock doors, dock levelers, seals, and associated equipment to ensure safe and reliable operation.
  • Support installation and modification of facility equipment and infrastructure.
  • Coordinate with contractors and vendors for specialized repairs or projects.
  • Execute preventive maintenance programs for all facility systems.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records, work orders, and inspection logs within CMMS.
  • Conduct routine inspections to identify potential issues and recommend corrective actions.

Job description

The Facilities Maintenance Technician is responsible for maintaining and ensuring reliable operation of all plant utility systems and facility infrastructure, including compressed air systems, chillers, HVAC, dock equipment, and general building systems. This role supports production uptime, safety, and regulatory compliance through preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement of facility systems.

Role and Responsibilities
Utilities & Critical Systems
  • Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair compressed air systems including compressors, dryers, receivers, and distribution piping.
  • Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on industrial chillers, cooling towers, pumps, and process water systems.
  • Maintain HVAC systems including rooftop units, air handlers, exhaust systems, and environmental controls to support production and facility comfort.

Safety & Compliance
  • Follow all plant safety policies and procedures including lockout/tagout and confined space requirements.
  • Ensure systems operate within regulatory and environmental standards.
  • Support safety audits and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA, FDA, SQF, environmental, and other regulatory requirements.
  • Ensure mechanical integrity and process safety standards are maintained.
  • Lead and support safety initiatives and ensure adherence to all company safety policies.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
  • Identify opportunities to improve system reliability, energy efficiency, and maintenance processes.
  • Support capital projects and facility upgrades.
  • Assist with root cause analysis for system failures.
Qualifications and Education Requirements
Education & Experience

Physical Requirements & Work Environment
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, climb ladders, and work in confined spaces.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to work in a manufacturing environment with varying temperatures and noise levels.
  • Manufacturing plant environment with exposure to moving machinery, noise, heat, and industrial equipment.
  • May require occasional overtime, weekend, or on-call support.
