Smurfit WestRock in Sioux City, IA is hiring a Maintenance Mechanic to support production—2nd & 3rd shifts. Starting wage ranges from $27.63 to $45.00 depending on experience. Must provide own tools and be willing to cross-train.

Qualifications

• 2–3 years electrical troubleshooting/repair experience
• At least 1 year mechanical troubleshooting/repair experience
• Able to initiate and carry out actions with urgency
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills
• Must be able to lift 50–100 lbs repeatedly

Responsibilities

• Ensure production machinery is functioning correctly and efficiently
• Perform preventative maintenance on all machinery
• Troubleshoot and repair pneumatic, electrical, hydraulic, compressor, and vacuum systems
• Read and interpret blueprints
• Assemble, install and fabricate equipment including welding
• Operate steam and boiler controls and mechanical power drives
• Support inventory accuracy through proper paperwork
• Participate in safety reviews and training
• Willingness to participate in maintenance training programs
• Provide own tools (specialty tools provided by Company)
