Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • 1–3 years of related experience; five years in manufacturing preferred.
  • Formal training in welding, sheet metal, machine work, plumbing, electrical systems.
  • Experience with calibration and equipment changeover; ability to use hand and power tools.

Responsibilities

  • Repairs and maintains machinery and mechanical equipment per manuals.
  • Performs preventive maintenance on equipment.
  • Troubleshoots downtime and implements countermeasures.
  • Creates requisitions for parts and materials.
  • Performs equipment calibration and changeover.
  • Attends training classes.
  • Complies with OSHA safety rules.
  • Collaborates with production and support to ensure food safety and product quality.

Maintenance Technician 2 - 1st Shift

Full Time Maintenance Salem, OR, US

Scope of Job:This position is responsible for performing preventive maintenance and skilled repairs on complex electrical and mechanical production equipment and systems. Follows standard procedures to monitor equipment for performance, safety, and effectiveness. Performs equipment failure analysis to complete preventive and unscheduled maintenance. Troubleshoots and diagnoses equipment problems. Logs equipment modifications and maintenance details in the designated system.

Essential Job Functions and Responsibilities:

  • Repairs and maintains, in accordance with operation manuals and manufacturer's specifications, machinery, and mechanical equipment, such as, conveyor systems, and production equipment, by using hand, power tools, and precision measuring equipment.
  • Performs preventive maintenance on equipment.
  • Troubleshoots equipment downtime and implements countermeasures to prevent recurrence.
  • Creates requisitions for parts and materials needed for projects assigned.
  • Performs equipment calibration and changeover.
  • Attends company scheduled training classes.
  • Complies with company and OSHA safety rules and regulations.
  • Collaborate with production and support departments to ensure food safety and the quality of our products.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Education: Highschool diploma or GED required.

Experience: Formal training in the following: welding, sheet metal, machine work, plumbing, equipment repair, mechanical system, electrical systems, CMMS systems, and equipment calibration. Additional years of experience may substitute for training. Must have 1 to 3 years of relative experience required. Five years’ experience in a manufacturing environment preferred. Additional years of experience may substitute for training.
