Job summary

Kerry is seeking a Maintenance Technician for our Owatonna, MN facility. The role supports the Cereal division with building repairs, equipment installation, and urgent repairs to keep production running. We emphasize safety and quality in all tasks.

Ideal candidates have 2+ years in maintenance in a manufacturing setting; a boiler license is preferred and a high school diploma is required. Overtime may be available and a comprehensive benefits package is offered.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of general maintenance experience required.
• Experience in a manufacturing environment; food/beverage experience is a plus.
• High school diploma or GED required; associate degree preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform building repairs and equipment installation to support operations.
• Troubleshoot and complete assigned work orders with timely execution.
• Maintain safe, clean facilities following GMP and environmental regulations.

Where you'll work

At our Owatonna, MN facility we are part of the Cereal division and hundreds of different products for Kerry and our retail customers. We are looking for someone to help us keep things running!
We have an immediate opening for a 1st shift Maintenance Technician. The schedule 700AM - 530PM Monday - Thursday with occasional overtime on Friday!

What you'll do

You’ll work with the Maintenance team to complete building repairs, equipment installation, troubleshooting and installation, fulfillment of assigned work orders and unforeseen repairs in a timely fashion. You’ll follow good manufacturing practices to maintain inventory, preventative maintenance, good housekeeping and ensure compliance with all safety and environmental laws and regulations. Important areas of operations you’ll work on (but are not limited to)

• Clean and lubricate shafts, bearing, gears, and other parts of machinery
• Install and maintain pipe systems, hydraulic steam, pneumatic equipment
• Repair and replace gauges, valves, pressure regulators, and other related equipment
• Building maintenance including minor plumbing, welding, and general upkeep

What you'll need to be successful in this role

• 2+ years of General Maintenance Experience.
• Experience working in a manufacturing environment & food/beverage experience is highly preferred
• High school diploma or GED is required; associated degree in relevant field preferred
• Boilers license, minimal special boilers willing to update to 2nd Class within 6-8 months.
• Possess and demonstrate basic technical knowledge of some or all of the following
• Stainless Steel Welding/Fabrication
• Ability to be or become or is a Sanitary Certified welder. (outside certification)
• Piping systems
• Electricity
• PLC’s (Programmable logic controllers) – a plus
• Process control instrumentation
• HVAC systems
• Process equipment
• Personal Computing

Compensation Data

The pay rate for this position is $26.00 - 29.00 per hour. Kerry offers a competitive benefits package, including medical, dental, vision, paid time off, a 401(k) plan with employee and company contribution opportunities, Employee Share Plan, Life, disability, and accident insurance.
