Job summary

Kerry Group in Minnesota is seeking a 1st shift Maintenance Technician for our Owatonna facility. The role runs 7:00 AM – 5:30 PM, Monday to Thursday, with occasional overtime on Fridays.

You will join the maintenance team to repair, install equipment, troubleshoot, and complete work orders in a food/beverage manufacturing setting. Requirements include 2+ years in general maintenance, a high school diploma or GED (an associate degree preferred), a boiler license with willingness to upgrade, and

Qualifications

• 2+ years of general maintenance experience.
• Experience in a manufacturing environment; food/beverage experience preferred.
• High school diploma or GED; associate degree preferred.
• Boilers license; willing to upgrade to 2nd Class within 6–8 months.
• Basic knowledge of welding, piping, electricity, PLCs and process control instrumentation.

Responsibilities

• Perform building repairs and equipment installation.
• Troubleshoot and complete work orders promptly.
• Maintain inventory, housekeeping and safety compliance.
• Follow GMPs and environmental laws and regulations.

At our Owatonna, MN facility we are part of the Cereal division and hundreds of different products for Kerry and our retail customers. We are looking for someone to help us keep things running!

We have an immediate opening for a 1st shift Maintenance Technician. The schedule 7:00AM - 5:30PM Monday - Thursday with occasional overtime on Friday!

What you'll do:

You’ll work with the Maintenanceteam to complete building repairs, equipment installation, troubleshooting and installation, fulfillment of assigned work orders and unforeseen repairs in a timely fashion. You’ll follow good manufacturing practices to maintain inventory, preventative maintenance, good housekeeping and ensure compliance with all safety and environmental laws and regulations. Important areas of operations you’ll work on (but are not limited to):

• Clean and lubricate shafts, bearing, gears, and other parts of machinery
• Install and maintain pipe systems, hydraulic steam, pneumatic equipment
• Repair and replace gauges, valves, pressure regulators, and other related equipment
• Building maintenance including minor plumbing, welding, and general upkeep

What you'll need to be successful in this role:

• 2+ years of General Maintenance Experience.
• Experience working in a manufacturing environment & food/beverage experienceis highly preferred
• High school diploma or GED is required; associated degree in relevant field preferred
• Boilers license, minimal special boilers willing to update to 2nd Class within 6-8 months.
• Possess and demonstrate basic technical knowledge of some or all of the following:
  • Stainless Steel Welding/Fabrication
  • Ability to be or become or is a Sanitary Certified welder. (outside certification)
  • Piping systems
  • Electricity
  • PLC’s (Programmable logic controllers) – a plus
  • Process control instrumentation
  • HVAC systems
  • Process equipment
  • Personal Computing

Compensation Data

The pay rate for this position is $26.00 - 29.00 per hour.
