Kerry is seeking a Maintenance Technician for our Rochester, MN facility. The role involves repairing, installing, and troubleshooting equipment on a 12-hour night shift (4:00 PM–4:30 AM) on a rotating 2-2-3 schedule.

You will work with the maintenance manager to ensure safety, quality, and compliance in a fast-paced food manufacturing environment. Qualifications include a High School diploma or GED, 3+ years in food manufacturing, and mechanical/welding skills with hand and power tools.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Minnesota First or Second Class B Boiler license desired.
• BUM/FAST program (or equivalent) highly desired.
• 3+ years' experience in a food manufacturing facility preferred.
• Mechanical repair, welding, use of hand tools and power tools, and basic computer skills.
• Ability to work independently or with production personnel to solve problems.

Shift Information

12 hr Night Shift 400PM - 430AM on a rotating 2-2-3 schedule

What you'll do

As a Maintenance Technician, you will work with the maintenance manager to complete building repairs, equipment installation, troubleshooting and installation, fulfillment of assigned work orders and unforeseen repairs in a timely fashion. You'll follow good manufacturing practices to maintain inventory, complete preventative maintenance, good housekeeping and ensure compliance with all safety and environmental laws and regulations. Attention to detail is necessary for completing inventory and shift notes. We strongly believe in Safety First, Quality Always for our employees, products, and customers. Important areas of operations you’ll work on (but are not limited to)

• Clean and lubricate shafts, bearing, gears, and other parts of machinery
• Troubleshoot and repair machinery such as extruders, mixers, conveyors, and metal detectors
• Install and maintain pipe systems, hydraulic steam, pneumatic equipment
• Repair and replace gauges, valves, pressure regulators, and other related equipment
• Building maintenance including minor plumbing, welding, and general upkeep
• Repair and assess electrical issues as they arise

What you'll need to be successful

• Must have High School Diploma or GED.
• State of Minnesota First or Second Class B Boiler license desired.
• BUM/FAST program (or equivalent) highly desired.
• 3+ years' experience required. (Prior experience in a food manufacturing facility preferred).
• Required skills Mechanical repair, general welding, ability to use hand tools, hand-held power tools, and basic computer skills.
• Must have the ability to work alone and in close cooperation with production personnel and be capable of working through complex problems alone or with others to provide logical solutions.

Compensation Data

The pay rate for this position is $33.00 - 39.00 per hour.
