Job summary

Kerry, at our North Rose facility, is seeking a Maintenance Technician to perform preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on electrical, mechanical, and facility systems. The role requires reading blueprints, wiring diagrams, and basic welding on piping.

You will collaborate with Engineering, operators, and contractors to keep our plant running efficiently. Qualified candidates have 5 years of building maintenance and machinery repair experience, strong instrumentation knowledge,

Qualifications

• Maintenance and repair of instrumentation and low-voltage circuits.
• Reading blueprints, wiring diagrams, and flowcharts.
• Ability to weld on pipe and repair PVC piping.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on electrical, mechanical, and facility systems.
• Inspect and repair plant equipment and facility systems; document work in SAP/MVP.
• Coordinate with Engineering, operators, and outside contractors as needed.
• Ensure safety and quality requirements are followed in all maintenance activities.
• Support plant projects and maintain equipment to minimize downtime.
• Assist in planning and reporting of maintenance activities using SAP/MVP.

This plant produces Fleischmann’s vinegar products. As the world's largest industrial vinegar producer, Fleischmann's Vinegar welcomed a new era while continuing to deliver the quality customers have expected for the past 100 years. Kerry's Applied Health & Nutrition company acquired Fleishmann's Vinegar in 2018. We are a key vinegar supplier for a wide range of products, such as condiments, sauces and dressings, all the way to pet food and care, meats, soups and frozen entrées, as well as a variety of commercial and agricultural applications.

Monday - Friday, 630AM - 330PM, on call after hours

What you’ll do

As a Maintenance Technician, you’ll perform a wide range of preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs across electrical, mechanical, and facility systems. You’ll work from diagrams, sketches, manuals, and manufacturer specifications to maintain and repair equipment such as pumps, motors, pneumatic valves, instrumentation, and other process equipment.

Important areas of operations you’ll work on (but are not limited to)

• Perform inspections and preventive maintenance and troubleshoot/repair plant equipment and facility systems.
• Support electrical work including troubleshooting motors/controls and installing conduit and wiring for motors, lighting, and control devices (valves, limit switches, etc.).
• Perform mechanical and piping work as needed (pumps, seals, bearings, valves; PVC and welded piping) and welding/fabrication support as qualified.
• Support plant projects and coordinate work with Engineering, operators, and outside contractors/vendors as needed.
• Follow all safety and quality requirements and help ensure maintenance work is completed using safe procedures.
• Use SAP/MVP to document work, track parts, and support maintenance planning and reporting.

What you’ll need

• Repair and maintain instrumentation and low-voltage circuits.
• Knowledge of basic 110/480V electrical wiring (or equivalent).
• Read and interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, and flowcharts.
• Detail-oriented with the ability to spot inconsistencies and correct errors.
• Ability to weld on pipe (required).
• Run and repair PVC piping.
• General knowledge of ammonia systems and compressors.

Additional Qualifications

• Critical thinking use logic and reasoning to evaluate options and solve problems.
• Education high school diploma (or equivalent) plus vocational/trade training to meet job requirements.
• Experience 5 years’ experience in building maintenance and machinery repair; welding experience required.

Compensation Data

The pay range for this position is $26 - $30 per hour. Kerry typically does not hire an individual at the top or near the top of the range, as we are a pay-for-performance company, and this range is set to continue to reward performance annually while in role. Compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. The specific compensation offered to a candidate within the above range may be influenced by a variety of factors including skills, qualifications, experience, and internal equity.
