Job summary

Custom Building Products is seeking an experienced Maintenance Technician for the Frankfort, IN plant. This full-time, Monday–Friday role (6:00 AM–2:30 PM) offers overtime potential and a step-up after 90 days.

You will ensure maximum up time on manufacturing equipment and collaborate with Production, Shipping, and other departments. We require five years of industrial maintenance experience, strong mechanical/electrical knowledge, and the ability to read diagrams.

Qualifications

• Minimum five (5) years of experience in industrial maintenance.
• Safety-minded with thorough knowledge of occupational hazards and safety practices.
• Ability to read and understand technical service manuals and repair records.
• Capable of working overtime and on-call duties when necessary.

Responsibilities

• Knowledge in mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic equipment.
• Install, repair and maintain plant process machinery including mixers, packers, motors, pneumatic tools & systems, and conveyor systems; provide detailed written work descriptions.
• Electrical troubleshooting to identify and correct issues.
• Operate light mobile equipment such as forklifts, welding machines, man-lifts, and skid loaders.
• Provide breakdown reports, track parts usage, and read electrical/mechanical diagrams.
• Perform preventive and predictive maintenance on equipment per schedule.
• Some facility maintenance may include plumbing, sheetrock work, carpentry, etc.
• Lift up to 50 pounds when required.

Job description

We are looking for an experienced MAINTENANCE TECHNICIAN to join our Frankfort, IN plant. This is a fulltime position Monday to Friday (6:00 AM - 2:30 PM) with likelihood of overtime. This is not a building maintenance position. This position requires a minimum of five (5) years of experience in industrial maintenance. We offer competitive benefits and salary, plus up to $1.00/hr increase after 90 days. You will be responsible for ensuring our customers' satisfaction by achieving maximum up time on our manufacturing equipment. You will also work closely with all departments in the facility, including Production, Shipping, and more. • Operate light mobile equipment such as forklifts, portable welding machine, man-lifts, and skid loader.
• Ability to provide breakdown reports, parts usage, and ability reading electrical and mechanical diagrams.
• Perform preventive and predictive maintenance on equipment per assigned schedule.
• Some facility maintenance may include plumbing, sheetrock work, carpentry, etc.
• Ready and able to lift up to 50 pounds.

• PLC practical experience and troubleshooting mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic issues.
• Ability to weld needed.
• Ability to perform assigned tasks properly and in a timely manner.
• Ability to operate personal computer and knowledge of basic computer applications, including computer generated parts and service manuals.
• Maintain a current state Driver’s License and a clean Motor Vehicle Record.
• Good communication and interpersonal relationships.
• Capable of working in confined spaces.
• Must be able to work overtime, on-call duties when necessary.
• Able to walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, and climb.
• Must be able to perform heavy work exerting up to 100 pounds of force occasionally; and/or up to 50 pounds of force frequently; and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
• Candidates with Knowledge on NEC and NFPA codes and standards preferred.
