Job summary

The Retreat of Shawnee, managed by Timberland Partners Inc., is seeking a Maintenance Technician for our 342-unit property in Shawnee, KS. You’ll own general upkeep, handle unit turns, and preventative maintenance to ensure residents enjoy a high-quality living environment.

You'll support on-site operations with a Monday–Friday schedule (8:30 AM–5:30 PM) and rotating on-call shifts. Benefits include a $1,000 sign-on bonus, health/dental/vision, 401(k) with match, and more.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of general maintenance experience; residential maintenance preferred.
• EPA universal license for HVAC required
• CPO license preferred
• Knowledge of Fair Housing regulations
• Ability to troubleshoot and repair HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and all major appliances (washer/dryer)
• Experience with turnover “make-ready” of apartments
• High school diploma or GED
• Basic computer proficiency preferred

Responsibilities

• Deliver timely, high-quality results for resident work requests and day-to-day community maintenance needs.
• Take pride in curb appeal by keeping grounds, amenities, and common areas above quality standards.
• Identify and resolve potential safety or upkeep issues, protecting residents and the property.
• Execute seamless make-readies, repairs, and final checks for move-in readiness.
• Provide reliable emergency support on a rotating on-call schedule.
• Champion a culture of safety by following industry procedures.
