Job summary

Shasta Beverages, Inc. in California seeks a skilled Maintenance Technician to repair, service, and install production equipment, and maintain preventive maintenance programs. The ideal candidate will be a full journeyman in Machine Repair, Plant Mechanic, or Millwright, and proficient in reading mechanical/electrical prints and schematics.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED preferred or equivalent experience.
• 3-5 years’ experience in related field with proven industry experience; beverage experience is a plus.
• Ability to read schematics.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office products including Excel and Word; MP2 software and PLC experience preferred.
• Strong analytical skills.
• Knowledgeable on OSHA laws and can implement all OSHA required training for the department.
• Excellent oral and written communications skills in English; bilingual in Spanish strongly preferred.
• Must be 18 years or older.
• Favorable background and drug exam.
• Ability and willingness to work 12 hour shifts and the flexibility to work a flexible Full Time schedule that may include weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Perform changeovers, answer line calls, and troubleshoot.
• Apply basic electrical skills.
• Repair and maintain high speed production equipment.
• Follow lock out tag out procedures and complete OSHA training as required.
• Respond to calls from line supervisors to repair equipment as needed.
• Perform package change-overs on equipment as required.
• Schedule preventative maintenance on equipment as required.
• Participate in daily meetings and report maintenance objectives.
• Installing/rebuilding equipment.
• Troubleshoot pneumatic devices and hydraulic systems.
• Develop preventative maintenance needs and requirements.
• Troubleshoot mechanical or electrical problems in a timely manner.
• Independently perform assignments after general instructions.
• Take the lead and initiate resolution of technical, unusual or complex problems.
• Interact positively with the public and other employees; promote cooperation.
• Coordinate several projects and prioritize deadlines.
• Synthesize complex information.
• Negotiate in competitive environments.
• Understand electrical controls.
• Work 12 hour shifts including days, evenings and/or weekends.
