Position Overview -

We are seeking a motivated and dependable Maintenance Technician Level 1 to join our team. This entry-level role is a great opportunity for individuals looking to start or grow a career in property maintenance.

You will gain hands‑on experience while supporting the upkeep of our apartment communities working alongside experienced technicians, learning valuable trade skills, and contributing to safe, clean, and well‑maintained living environments for residents.

Compensation and Benefits -

Hourly Rate: $22.00 – $25.00

• Communicate professionally with residents when scheduling and performing work
• Prepare tools and materials needed for assigned tasks
• Perform routine maintenance and basic repairs (plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and general upkeep)
• Assist senior technicians with more complex repairs and learn proper techniques
• Accurately document completed work in Yardi
• Maintain organization of tools, equipment, and materials
• Observe property conditions and report issues proactively
• Ensure incomplete tasks are documented and communicated for follow‑up
• Participate in inspections, installations, and minor repair projects under supervision

Education and Experience -

• High school diploma required
• Less than 2 years of full‑time experience in maintenance or a related trade (plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry, painting, drywall, masonry, etc.)
• Certifications in plumbing, electrical, or HVAC are a plus

Supervisory Responsibilities -

• This position does not include supervisory responsibilities but assists more experienced technicians as directed

Physical Requirements -

• Ability to lift up to 25 pounds to shoulder height and up to 50 pounds to waist height
• Frequent standing, walking, sitting, and reaching
• Good vision and overall physical conditioning required
• Work is primarily performed in occupied apartments and residential buildings
• Occasional administrative or office‑related tasks as needed
• Regular interaction with residents in a customer‑service‑focused environment

Travel Requirements -

• Must have use of a vehicle to regularly travel to Community Corp. properties, hardware stores, and supply stores within the service area
• Valid California driver’s license and required insurance
• Must maintain a satisfactory driving record and consent to DMV pull report
