Job summary

Golding is seeking a Maintenance Technician in Winston-Salem, NC for a full-time role with a 2-2-3 12-hour schedule. The technician will repair, adjust, and test manufacturing equipment to meet production specs and safety standards.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years of manufacturing maintenance experience, plus familiarity with automated equipment, motors, VFDs, PLCs, and electrical panels. Relocation assistance is available to the right candidate.

Responsibilities

• Repair and adjust equipment to meet manufacturer specs and production needs.
• Learn production equipment processes to aid troubleshooting and operation support.
• Perform and document preventative maintenance tasks.
• Work with electrical components inside panels and read wiring schematics.
• Troubleshoot components like motors, VFDs, PLCs, and safety circuits.
• Weld using acetylene torch and work with pneumatic and hydraulic systems.
• Maintain clean, safe work area and follow GMP/SOP/ SQF requirements.
• Live a team-oriented mindset and communicate effectively across shifts.

Job Description

Summary:The Maintenance Technician is responsible for repairing and adjusting equipment as needed to ensure it operates according to manufacturer’s specifications and production requirements.

Primary Tasks/Responsibilities:

• Services, repairs, adjusts and test various machinery, devices, and equipment related to the manufacturing process.
• Ability to learn production equipment processes and operations to aid in machine troubleshooting and operation support.
• Perform and document preventative maintenance tasks as necessary.
• Demonstrate knowledge of minor electrical repairs and troubleshooting on motors, VFDs, PLCs, high and low voltage applications.
• Safely work inside electrical panels and understand the function of all components inside.
• Read and understand wiring schematics and machine manuals.
• Troubleshoot safety switches and safety circuitry.
• Welding, use of acetylene torch.
• Use of pneumatic controls.
• Perform work on hydraulic equipment.
• Perform regular maintenance on gear boxes and conveyors.
• Maintain a clean, sanitary, and safe work area.
• Follow all Good Manufacturing Practices and Standard Operating Procedures.
• Adhere to all safety and security policies and procedures.
• Follow all food safety and quality system requirements by committing to meet all pertinent regulatory, customer and Safe Quality Foods (SQF) requirements.

Qualifications/Knowledge:

• High School Diploma or GED required; Associate degree preferred
• 5 years experience as maintenance technician in a manufacturing environment required.
• 5+ years maintenance experience in manufacturing preferred; automated equipment experience a plus
• Skilled in installing and maintaining pumps, bearings, pulleys, belts, chains, gearboxes, bushings, etc.
• Proficient with automation, production, and computer systems
• Strong attention to detail
• Clear communicator with technicians, operators, managers, and plant leadership
• Able to work independently or in teams; communicates effectively via radio, phone, and in person

• Ability to be respectful, approachable and team oriented while building strong working relationships and a positive work environment.
• Must be able to read, write, perform basic mathematical calculations, and accurately record data required.
• Must be willing to work weekends, holidays, and varying shifts, as required.
• Must be able to frequently stand, walk, kneel, reach, climb, pull, and bend with full range of body motion.
• Must be able to work independently and/or on a team in a fast-paced environment.
• Must be able to work in a wet and/or humid environment. Occasional exposure to fumes or airborne particles; toxic or caustic chemicals will occur. Exposure to nut allergens.
