Maintenance Technician
Reports To: Environmental Service Director
Department: 500

Primary Purpose
- The maintenance technician needs to be able to perform general maintenance work with basic understanding of the building trades. They should be able to perform general maintenance and repairs to the equipment of the facility. In addition, show a willingness to work in inclement weather if necessary. They also need to be able to work with other departments.
- The Ability to perform maintenance repairs on all facility equipment. To access each piece of equipment and make necessary adjustments.
- Possess the proper license to perform the job duties.
- Accepts responsibility for repairs of equipment. Keeps work area neat and organized. Know the proper usage and storage of all chemicals used in the department.
- Good communication skills with residents, staff and supervisor.
- Keeps the building and grounds neat and in a well-kept manner. This includes lawn care, snow removal and floors.
- Carry out instructions as directed.
Other Duties
- Attends mandatory in-services as required. Attends all other in-services as requested by department manager/administrator.
- Presents a positive public image to residents families, staff, physicians, and visitors. Contributes to team cohesiveness, promotes new ideas, respects peers, and creates a pleasant work atmosphere.
- Gives proper notice of tardiness or absences. Adheres to meal/break times. Uses time clock properly. Accomplishes workload within time allowed.
- Supports the concept and ideas of culture change/resident centered care. Promotes individual resident choices, routines, and preferences.
- Maintains confidentiality of resident related information in compliance with HIPAA regulations. Respects confidentiality of the organization, department, staff, residents and facility needs.
- Adheres to dress code. Is neat and clean in appearance. Wears nametag at all times while on duty. Follows facility/department dress code.
- Other duties that may be assigned by the department Manager/Administrator.

Minimum Experience And Qualifications
Education: High school Diploma/GED
Experience: Ability to follow written verbal instructions.
- Actively promotes teamwork with co-workers, residents, families, volunteers, physicians and staff members of all departments
- Minimum special Engineers license within six months of hire.
- Must possess valid driver's license
- Must respect confidentiality
- May be required to pass D.O.T. Physical
