Job summary

National Louis University is seeking a Facilities Maintenance Technician to support daily building operations across campus. You will perform maintenance tasks, assist with events, and help with safety and security procedures as needed.

The role requires reliability, basic computer skills, and a high school diploma. Join a team dedicated to keeping university facilities functional, safe, and welcoming for students, staff, and visitors.

Qualifications

• 1-3 years experience with general building maintenance.
• Basic computer knowledge.
• High School Diploma.

Responsibilities

• Complete daily work requests and event set-up.
• Finish project tasks: painting, furniture assembly/repair, office moves, minor repairs.
• Perform preventative maintenance.
• Assist campus security and safety policy enforcement; liaise with responders; secure building when closing.
• Distribute keys/access and assist with ID cards.
• Back-up driver for intercampus mail delivery.
• Assist with daytime cleaning; primary cleaning at night.
• Other duties as assigned.

Essential Responsibilities

• Completion of daily work requests, and event set‑up.
• Completion of project work, including but not limited to painting, furniture assembly and repair, faculty‑staff office moves, minor construction and repairs, etc.
• Preventative maintenance.
• Assist with campus security, and university safety policies, serving as a point of contact for local emergency responders in the absence of a Facilities Management supervisor on campus, securing the building if closing the campus, etc.
• Key / access distribution, and assist with ID card requests as necessary.
• Serve as back‑up driver for intercampus mail delivery.
• Assist with supplemental, daytime cleaning (primary cleaning happens in the evening).
• Other duties as assigned.
