Job summary

Amcor is seeking a Maintenance Technician to handle day-to-day mechanical and electrical issues in the production environment, troubleshoot PLC and programming problems, and help develop maintenance strategies with the Maintenance Manager.

This role requires safety awareness, ability to work rotating shifts, forklift certification, and at least 5 years in manufacturing maintenance.

Qualifications

• Associates degree in related field is preferred.
• 5+ years in manufacturing maintenance related to mechanical and/or electrical troubleshooting is required.
• Forklift operator certification is required or must be obtained within 30 days of start. This will be trained and certified internally.
• Flexibility to work rotating shifts and/or flexible hours to accommodate production demand.

ROLE OVERVIEW

This position is responsible for handling day-to-day mechanical and electrical issues within the production environment, as well as troubleshooting basic PLC and programming problems. The Maintenance Tech helps organize and develop maintenance strategies in partnership with the Maintenance Manager. This position must act with safety and food safety guidelines in mind at all times and maintain the highest level of compliance with each.

WHAT YOU GET TO DO

• Acts as a safety leader and puts safety first in all responsibilities.
• Responsible for ordering and maintaining spare parts inventory for liquids department.
• Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical and electrical issues on all machines.
• Work from task or project lists to complete Work Orders in line with established timelines.
• Design and build items to be contributed to processes and equipment to improve efficiencies.
• Performs other duties as assigned by management.

WHAT WE VALUE

• Experience in Rapid Problem Solving and the use of RPS to facilitate investigations.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

This position requires employees to stand, walk, bend, reach, climb, and even sit for extended periods of time. Frequent exposure to a manufacturing environment with moderate noise levels. Potential contact with chemicals and cleaning supplies, and ability to lift up to 50 pounds is a requirement. Some parts of this position would require the employee to work at heights as part of some tasks.
