Job description

Maintenance Technician

Pay: $25.00 – $35.00 per hour

Padgett, Inc. is looking for a Maintenance Technician to join our team. The role involves maintaining, setting up, and caring for machinery in a fabrication shop, overall in-house repair and service, testing repairs or new set‑ups, and notifying management of recurring equipment malfunctions and corrective action taken or supplies needed.

Responsibilities

• Wear appropriate PPE and abide by all lock out, tag out, and company safety requirements.
• Perform preventive maintenance daily on forklifts.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot and repair all shop equipment including CNC Brake Presses, Shears, Welding equipment, Burn Table, Laser, Overhead Cranes, Beam line, Angle line, electrical and pneumatic hand tools.
• Must know electrical from single phase to 480v.
• Must be able to read and interpret wiring diagrams and electrical schematics and technical data to troubleshoot and repair equipment as required.
• Hydraulic and pneumatic experience is a must.
• Experienced in changing out drive motors, bearings, hydraulic and pneumatic cylinders.
• Experience with CNC equipment.
• Operate forklifts, man‑lifts in a safe manner.
• Work at elevated heights.
• Hours are 7:00 am to 3:30 pm, with daily and weekend overtime as required.

Requirements

• Good physical condition required – job requires prolonged standing, bending, kneeling, lifting above shoulders and lifting up to 80 lbs and 50 lbs repetitively. Ability to work indoor/outdoor in various environments.
• Good mental and visual effort required.
• Willingness to work with others.
• Good work habits, punctual, pride in work.
• Good organizational skills and ability to prioritize workload.
• Willingness to work overtime and some Saturdays.
• Proficiency with basic hand tools and toolbox.
• Assist in other areas at management discretion.
