Job summary

Conifer Realty is seeking a Maintenance Technician to service our affordable-housing communities in District Heights, MD. The role involves routine maintenance, preventative tasks, and on-call coverage in a full-time, on-site setting.

You will perform painting, drywall, plumbing, electrical, and carpentry as needed, with emphasis on safety, resident interaction, and timely work orders. A high school diploma, valid transportation, and strong customer-service skills are essential.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of apartment, residential, or facilities maintenance experience (painting, drywall, plumbing, electrical, flooring; HVAC experience a plus).
• A high school diploma or GED.
• Ability to lift 50 lbs. regularly and up to 100 lbs. occasionally.
• Reliable transportation and flexibility to cover overtime or nearby communities when needed.
• Basic computer or mobile-app skills for work orders, timekeeping, and training (we’ll train you!).
• Strong communication and customer-service skills
• Bilingual (Spanish/English) skills, a plus that helps connect with our residents!

Responsibilities

• Perform routine and preventative maintenance across units and common areas.
• Care for grounds: landscaping, snow/ice removal, seasonal upkeep.
• Respond to work orders promptly and rotate for on-call coverage.

Requirements

Work schedules may include Saturdays, based on property performance needs such as occupancy levels, leasing activity, and rent collections.

When required, weekend coverage will be scheduled on a rotating basis and aligned with business priorities.

Employees are expected to support leasing efforts, resident engagement, and rent collection activities during scheduled weekend hours.
