Job summary

Conifer Realty in Camden, NJ is seeking a Maintenance Technician for affordable housing communities. You will perform routine and preventative maintenance, respond to work orders, and participate in on-call rotation.

The role requires 2+ years of maintenance experience, a high school diploma or GED, ability to lift up to 100 lbs, and good communication. The position offers full-time hours, a Monday–Friday schedule, and benefits.

• High school diploma or GED.
• Ability to lift 50 lbs regularly and up to 100 lbs occasionally.
• Reliable transportation and willingness to cover overtime or nearby communities.
• Basic computer or mobile-app skills for work orders and timekeeping.
• Strong communication and customer-service skills.
• Bilingual (Spanish/English) is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine and preventative maintenance (painting, drywall, carpentry, plumbing, electrical, cleaning).
• Maintain grounds and curb appeal (landscaping, snow/ice removal, seasonal upkeep).
• Respond quickly to work orders and rotate for on-call coverage (30-minute response).
• Follow safety, property, and inspection standards meticulously.
• Collaborate with peers and residents with empathy and pride.

What You’ll Bring As a Maintenance Technician

• 2+ years of apartment, residential, or facilities maintenance experience (painting, drywall, plumbing, electrical, flooring; HVAC experience a plus).
• A high school diploma or GED.
• Ability to lift 50 lbs. regularly and up to 100 lbs. occasionally.

Requirements
