Job summary

Conifer Realty is seeking a Maintenance Technician for our District Heights, MD community. This full-time role supports affordable housing, performing preventive maintenance and repairs to keep residents safe and comfortable. You’ll join a dedicated team, with an on-call rotation and a Monday–Friday schedule.

Requirements include 2+ years in maintenance, a high school diploma or GED, and reliable transportation. Bilingual Spanish/English is a plus.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of apartment, residential, or facilities maintenance experience (painting, drywall, plumbing, electrical, flooring; HVAC experience a plus).
• A high school diploma or GED.
• Ability to lift 50 lbs regularly and up to 100 lbs occasionally.
• Basic computer or mobile-app skills for work orders, timekeeping, and training.
• Strong communication and customer-service skills.
• Bilingual (Spanish/English) skills, a plus that helps connect with our residents!

Responsibilities

• Perform routine and preventative maintenance, including painting, drywall, carpentry, plumbing, electrical, and cleaning.
• Care for the grounds, maintain curb appeal through landscaping, snow/ice removal, and seasonal upkeep.
• Respond with urgency by completing work orders promptly and rotating for emergency on-call coverage.
• Prioritize quality & compliance by following safety, property, and inspection standards.
• Be part of a team that cares by working closely with peers and residents with empathy.
