Job summary

Oetiker is seeking a Maintenance Technician to maintain and repair production equipment across mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems. The role focuses on reducing downtime and ensuring safe operating conditions on the shop floor.

The ideal candidate has PLC repair experience, pneumatics knowledge, and certifications for forklift and scissor lift. The position is a 1st shift, Monday–Friday, aligned with our US operations.

Qualifications

• Must repair PLC controlled equipment with 2+ years’ experience or HS diploma with 6 years PLC repair experience.
• 3–5 years manufacturing industry experience required.
• Knowledge of pneumatics, ladder logic, basic electrical systems, and PLC equipment.

Responsibilities

• Repair mechanical, pneumatic and hydraulic systems on production machines.
• Troubleshoot and diagnose failures of automated equipment and initiate repairs.
• Adjust and replace electrical sensors for proper operation.
• Perform preventative maintenance and assist on special runs.
• Handle machine changeovers and tooling replacements.
• Operate and shut down facility equipment safely.
• Read manuals, drawings, and schematics for repairs.

Job Description

Salary Range: $55,000 - $70,000

Position Summary
Maintains and repairs production equipment on all levels, keeping down time to a minimum. Also provides a safe working environment and practices safe working habits.

Essential Function

• Repairs various mechanical, pneumatic and hydraulic systems and components (e.g. cylinders, valves, drives, etc.) installed on production machines
• Troubleshoots and diagnoses problems and or failures of automated equipment and initiates repair
• Adjusts and replaces various electrical sensors used for proper operation of assembly machine
• Performs preventative maintenance and cleaning of equipment on special runs to ensure safe reliable operation and makes suggestions for improvement
• Performs machine changeovers and replaces tooling as needed
• Opens/closes facility; startup/shut down equipment
• Uses metal working equipment such as powered hand tools, calipers, micrometers, and dial indicators
• Handles some spill responses and pest control as needed
• Changeover to generator power in emergency situations
• Rigging and moving of machinery as needed
• Reads and interprets equipment manuals, drawings and schematics

Qualifications

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

• Knowledge of machine operation of pneumatics, ladder logic, basic electrical systems, and operation of PLC equipment required
• Welding and machinery experience a plus
• Forklift and scissor lift certifications required

Education / Experience

• Associate’s degree or equivalent from a two year Technical school w/ 2 years’ experience repairing PLC controlled equipment OR a minimum of a HSD and 6 years’ experience repairing PLC controlled equipment required
• 3-5 years’ manufacturing industry experience required

Additional Information

This is a 1st shift position from 6:00 am - 2:30 pm, Monday - Friday.
