Job summary

Aerotek is seeking a Maintenance Mechanic (Conveyors & Cranes) on night shift at the Troy, AL facility. You will install, troubleshoot, and maintain crane and conveyor systems, read blueprints, and support safety and productivity in an industrial setting.

This contract-to-hire role requires working outdoors and at heights, travel to project sites, and collaboration with teams to meet production schedules. Training is provided on first shift to ramp up skills for the night shift.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Maintenance Mechanic or similar role.
• Experience with crane and conveyor systems preferred.
• Strong mechanical troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and drawings.
• Experience with PLC systems, especially Allen-Bradley.

Responsibilities

• Install, assemble, and align industrial equipment including overhead cranes and conveyors.
• Perform troubleshooting, repairs, and preventative maintenance on mechanical systems.
• Diagnose equipment issues and implement effective solutions.
• Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings.
• Support multiple projects and meet production timelines.
• Collaborate with project teams, supervisors, and other trades.
• Maintain safety, quality, and efficiency; work at heights and outdoors as required.
• Travel occasionally to support projects at different locations.

Maintenance Mechanic (Conveyors & Cranes) - NIGHT SHIFT ONLY

Location: Troy, AL (On-site at aerospace manufacturing facility)

Pay: $25$34/hour

Schedule:

Night Shift: MondayThursday, 3:00 PM 1:00 AM

Weekend Night Shift: ThursdaySunday or FridayMonday, 3:00 PM 1:00 AM

Training: First shift (MondayThursday, 6:00 AM 4:30 PM) for the first 46 weeks

Assignment Type: 6-month contract-to-hire

Job Overview: We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician to support repair, maintenance, and installation of crane and conveyor systems, along with a variety of mechanical projects within an industrial manufacturing environment. This role requires working in dynamic conditions both indoors and outdoors while maintaining a strong commitment to safety, quality, and productivity.

Key Responsibilities:

• Install, assemble, and align industrial equipment, including overhead cranes and conveyor systems
• Perform troubleshooting, repairs, and preventative maintenance on mechanical systems
• Diagnose equipment issues and implement effective solutions
• Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings
• Support multiple projects simultaneously and meet production timelines
• Collaborate with project teams, supervisors, and other trades
• Maintain a strong focus on safety, quality, and efficiency
• Work at heights and in varying weather conditions as needed
• Travel occasionally to support projects at different locations

Qualifications:

• Proven experience as a Maintenance Mechanic or in a similar mechanical/industrial maintenance role
• Experience working with crane and conveyor systems preferred
• Strong mechanical troubleshooting skills
• Ability to work in physically demanding environments, including heights and outdoor conditions
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously

Preferred:

• Experience with PLC systems, especially Allen-Bradley (may qualify for higher pay)

Work Environment:

Industrial setting within a manufacturing facility. Primarily indoors, but candidates must be comfortable working outdoors and at heights as required.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Troy, AL.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $34.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
