Christ the Redeemer Catholic Church is seeking a Maintenance Technician to perform preventative maintenance and repairs of parish buildings and grounds, under supervision of the Facilities Manager. The role includes routine repairs, setup for parish events, safety compliance and keeping records of work performed.

The candidate should have 1–2 years of relevant experience, be able to read work orders, work some weekends/evenings, and lift up to 50 pounds.

Maintenance TechnicianChrist the Redeemer Catholic Church

SummaryTo perform preventative maintenance, repairs and upkeep of the parish buildings and grounds to ensure a safe and welcoming environment.Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Under the general supervision of the Facilities Manager, the Maintenance Technician will perform the following duties. Others may be assigned as needed.

General Maintenance and Repairs
  • perform repairs and basic carpentry, plumbing, and painting, and other repairs
  • respond to routine repair and service requests;
  • maintain a safe and clean work environment;
  • maintain records related to work performed;
  • ensure appropriate coverage is addressed during time off and vacations;
Parish Facilities Daily Inspections and clean up
  • Report to the Facilities Manager any damage, gates and/or doors that may have been left unsecured or unlocked the night before.
  • Note any burned out lights or damaged fixtures.
  • Report any areas that need repair or attention to the Facilities Manager.
  • Clean up after parish events, classes, meetings, weddings, funerals, socials, etc.
  • Pick up trash on the grounds and in the parking lots.
  • Collects and disposes of trash and garbage.
Room Set-up Assistance
  • Set-up rooms according to online requests for parish events, classes, meetings, weddings,
  • Take down tables/chairs after parish events, classes, meetings, weddings, funerals, socials, etc.
  • Move deliveries, furniture, fixtures, equipment, and/or supplies from one location to another.
Required Knowledge and Skills
  • Preferably 1 - 2 years comparable work experience
  • Must possess the ability to read, interpret, and work from written work orders
  • Able to work weekends and evenings
  • This position could involve some overtime.
  • Able to honor and maintain confidentiality
  • Able to lift and carry 50 pounds, stoop, stand for long periods of time, and climb ladders
  • Able to organize and prioritize time and perform all work efficiently
  • Work effectively both independently and as part of a team
  • Establish and maintain cooperative working relationships;
  • Provide strong customer service to parish staff, parishioners and visitors
  • Practicing Catholic in good standing who supports the teachings and mission of the Catholic
