Job summary

Sims-Lohman, a granite and quartz countertop manufacturer, is expanding its maintenance program at the Cleveland, OH area facility. You will spearhead the development and hands-on execution of a preventative maintenance system while supporting safe operations.

The role requires extensive maintenance experience with CNC and water jet equipment, plus the ability to read electrical and hydraulic schematics and work off-shift as needed. Strong problem-solving and urgent-repair mindset are essential.

Qualifications

• 5+ years’ experience in preventative/anticipatory maintenance system execution, including writing standardized work instructions and inspection schedules.
• 3+ years CNC machine repair experience.
• 3+ years' Water Jet preventive maintenance and repair experience.
• Ability to read Electrical and Hydraulic Schematics.
• Ability to work off shift hours when equipment breaks down; limited travel to other facilities.

Job description

Sims-Lohman is a manufacturer of granite and quartz countertops who is expanding our presence in Northern Ohio. We operate various programmable cutting equipment (water jet saws, CNC), and we are in need of a first shift Maintenance Technician to spearhead the development and hands‑on execution of a Maintenance System at our facility located in the Cleveland, OH area.

Responsibilities

• Work with the Operations Manager to develop a preventative, anticipatory maintenance system & plan.
• Support Safety Function to ensure a safe workplace
• Conduct scheduled machine inspections
• Maintain and repair machinery and/or work with vendors to repair
• Perform facility maintenance as able and/or work with vendors to complete
• Maintain and repair material moving equipment
• Source vendors and purchase maintenance materials

Qualifications

• Ability to work off shift hours when equipment breaks down. Limited availability to travel and help with other facilities when needed.
• Excellent problem‑solving skills and a desire to drive repairs with a sense of urgency.
• Experience in Mechanical knowledge, hydraulic, pneumatic and electrical, with the ability to read Electrical and Hydraulic Schematics.
• 5+ years’ experience in preventative/anticipatory maintenance system execution, including experience with writing standardized work instructions and inspection schedules
• 3+ years CNC machine repair experience
• 3+ years' Water Jet preventive maintenance and repair experience
• Ability to work with computer manufacturing/production and order entry programs
• Ability to work with Outlook, Microsoft Word, and Excel
• Ability to work with 50+ pounds in tight spaces to work on machinery and facility
• Possess a valid driver's license
