Position Overview
We are seeking a skilled and proactive Maintenance Technician to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing a wide range of high-precision CNC machinery, manual machine tools, and support equipment.
The ideal candidate has a strong blend of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic expertise, with a proven track record of keeping tight-tolerance machining equipment operating at peak accuracy and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
Equipment Repair & Troubleshooting
- Diagnose and repair complex mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic issues on CNC equipment (mills, lathes, Swiss machines) and manual machine tools.
- Perform mechanical alignments, spindle verification/rebuilds/replacements.
- Troubleshoot CNC control systems (Fanuc), PLCs, servo drives, motors, and sensors.
- Read and interpret electrical schematics, mechanical drawings, hydraulic/pneumatic diagrams, and technical manuals.
Preventive & Predictive Maintenance
- Execute scheduled Preventive Maintenance (PM) programs for all shop machinery and plant infrastructure.
- Perform precision alignments, geometric checks, and calibration using indicator gages.
- Monitor machine health metrics (fluid/coolant analysis, vibration analysis, temperature readings) to identify and fix issues before failures occur.
- Manage coolant, lubrication, and filtration systems across the shop floor.
Shop & Facility Support
- Maintain plant facilities support systems, including air compressors, dust collectors, chip conveyors, and material handling equipment.
- Document all maintenance activities, parts used, and downtime in the computerized maintenance document.
- Maintain inventory of critical spare parts; coordinate with vendor technicians and OEM suppliers when necessary.
- Ensure all work adheres to OSHA guidelines, Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) protocols, and company safety standards.
Qualifications & Requirements
Required Experience & Education
- Education: High school diploma or GED required; Associate degree or Technical certification in Industrial Maintenance, Mechatronics, or Precision Machining preferred.
- Experience: Minimum [3–5+] years of hands-on industrial maintenance experience. Specifically within a precision machine shop or CNC manufacturing environment preferred.
Technical Skills
- Strong proficiency in troubleshooting 3-phase electrical systems (up to 480V), motors, and control circuits.
- Mechanical mastery of linear guides, ball screws, gearboxes, bearings, hydraulics, and pneumatics.
- Experience operating standard shop equipment (welders, manual lathes, Bridgeport mills, drill presses) for fabrication or repair.
- Familiarity with precision measurement tools (micrometers, indicators, torque wrenches, multimeter).
Soft Skills & Physical Requirements
- Strong problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision in a fast-paced environment.
- Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs, climb ladders, crawl into tight machine spaces, and stand/walk for extended periods.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Hydromat's, 5-axis CNC machining centers or Swiss-style turning centers.
- Formal certification in Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), Arc Flash Safety (NFPA 70E), or Rigging/Forklift operation.
- Basic PLC programming/diagnostics experience.

- Pay Range: [$26.00 – $38.00 / hour, depending on experience]
