Job summary

Empire Merchants North is seeking a high-energy Maintenance Technician for our Lyons, NY Distribution Center. The role involves outdoor grounds cleaning, facilities upkeep, and assisting with preventive maintenance to support production processes.

Responsibilities include electrical troubleshooting from 120V to 480V, lockout/tagout compliance, and occasional conveyor maintenance. A High School Diploma and a valid CDL with clean MVR are required, with 3–6 months related experience preferred.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Clean facility grounds and disposal of waste.

• Assist in building maintenance and light construction projects.
• Perform electrical troubleshooting up to 480V as needed.
• Lubricate and clean conveyor system per schedule.
• Follow lockout/tagout procedures for maintenance work.

We are seeking a high energy, motivated Maintenance Technician in our Lyons, NY Distribution Center

Essential Position Results

• Cleans facility grounds by collecting debris and disposing of waste.
• Cleans inside gated delivery fleet parking lot by collecting and disposing of waste.
• Ensures proper lighting environment by changing light bulbs, as necessary.
• Maintains facility’s interior and exterior appearance by painting surfaces as needed.
• Assists in all types of building maintenance and light construction projects to support preventative maintenance and the production process.
• Performs electrical troubleshooting, maintenance, and minor repairs on equipment and facility systems ranging from 120V to 480V, as appropriate to the position.
• Follows established lockout/tagout procedures when servicing or assisting with the maintenance equipment.
• May assist to help ensure consistent and efficient operation of conveyor system by regularly lubricating and cleaning based upon a pre-determined schedule.
• Makes minor repairs to mechanical operations by utilizing hand tools and small power tools as required.
• Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
• Maintains customer confidence and protects operations by keeping information confidential.
• Maintains a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations. Use of PPE when needed or required.

Travel Requirements

Occasional travel to Buffalo Depot and Syracuse Depot as needed.

Compensation & Benefits

Empire Merchants North offers a competitive compensation package including:

• Hourly Rate $22 per hour / Full time / Monday - Friday, 7 AM - 3:30 PM / Annual bonus potential

Qualifications

Education, Certifications and/or licenses:

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Valid CDL, clean MVR record as per our Company Fleet Safety Policy

Experience

• 3 to 6 months related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Prior experience working with electrical systems ranging from 120V to 480V required.
• Experience with lockout/tagout procedures required.

Knowledge/Skills

• Ability to use judgment required to plan and perform uncomplicated work where only general methods are available.
• Ability to make decisions involving considerable initiatives and ingenuity.
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and software instructions, and procedure manuals.
• Ability to multi-task, work independently and/or within a team, pays attention to detail and meet deadlines.
• Must be a result oriented professional with excellent communication skills using diplomacy and discretion as well as strong customer service skills.
• Ability to successfully and safely use a variety of equipment including, but not limited to: Forklift, Scissor Lift, Floor Scrubber, Lawn Mower, Snowplow.
