Sunshine Air Conditioning, Inc. is seeking an experienced Residential HVAC Maintenance Technician to join our Clermont, FL team. You will help homeowners keep their HVAC systems operating efficiently through preventative maintenance and customer-focused service.
The role offers a Monday–Friday schedule with a 7:30 AM start, potential overtime, and opportunities for growth. Compensation includes hourly wages plus commission and a strong benefits package.
Qualifications
- Experience in residential HVAC maintenance.
- EPA certification or Type II required.
- Valid driver’s license with clean record.
- Ability to work with hand and power tools.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
Responsibilities
- Service and maintain residential HVAC systems across multiple makes and models.
- Clean coils, drains, and other system components.
- Inspect electrical connections, motors, thermostats, and overall equipment operation.
- Check refrigerant pressures and identify potential system concerns.
- Keep accurate records of inspections and maintenance performed.
- Communicate findings clearly and professionally.

Sunshine Air Conditioning is expanding its presence in the Clermont/Groveland area and is adding an experienced Residential HVAC Maintenance Technician to the team.

- $19-$27 per hour starting rate
- Commission opportunities
- Typical annual earnings of $50,000-$75,000
- Overtime available
- Company-paid support for continued education and NATE certification
- Monday-Friday
- Typical start time: 7:30 AM
- Some nights and weekends may be scheduled
- After-hours service is available 24/7, so schedule flexibility is important
You’ll help homeowners keep their HVAC systems operating efficiently and reliably through thorough preventative maintenance.
- Service and maintain residential HVAC systems across multiple makes and models
- Clean coils, drains, and other system components
- Inspect electrical connections, motors, thermostats, and overall equipment operation
- Check refrigerant pressures and identify potential system concerns
- Keep accurate records of inspections, maintenance performed, and customer interactions
- Communicate findings and recommendations clearly and professionally
- Maintain appropriate parts and supplies in your assigned vehicle
- Keep tools, equipment, and your vehicle in good working condition
- Follow established safety practices on every job
- Represent Sunshine professionally in every customer interaction
We're seeking someone dependable and customer-focused who can work confidently in residential environments.
- Previous experience in residential HVAC maintenance
- Universal EPA certification or Type II
- Working knowledge of electrical and refrigeration systems
- Valid driver's license with an insurable driving record
- Ability to safely operate hand and power tools
- Ability to work from a 12-foot extension ladder and 8-foot step ladder
- Ability to work in heat, cold, and other challenging weather conditions
- Strong verbal and written communication
- Good customer service skills
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
- Strong attention to detail and analytical thinking
- Stable employment history
- Required hand tools
- HVAC technical school completion
- Knowledge of applicable local codes and ordinances
- NATE certification
