Job summary

Saint-Gobain’s Georgia plant is seeking a Maintenance Technician with electro-mechanical experience to safely maintain and repair equipment and perform facilities maintenance. You will keep accurate records, adhere to OSHA guidelines, and work as part of a collaborative team to ensure safe, reliable production.

Responsibilities include safety inspections, PPE use, SAP time entry, and handling a variety of mechanical and basic electrical repairs while supporting shift rotations and on-call

Qualifications

• Associate's degree or technical certification required.
• 2+ years of electro-mechanical maintenance experience.
• Ability to work rotating shifts and be on-call weekends.
• Equivalent education/experience acceptable.

Responsibilities

• Safely maintain and repair plant equipment and facilities.
• Follow OSHA guidelines and safety rules for the extrusion line.
• Perform safety inspections and report unsafe conditions immediately.
• Wear required PPE and maintain clean work areas.
• Enter time in SAP work order system daily.
• Complete preventative maintenance as assigned.
• Operate forklift and participate in shift-based work orders.
• Other related duties as assigned.

About the Role

Reporting to the Plant Superintendent, the Maintenance Technician is primarily responsible to safely maintain and repair the plant equipment and any facilities maintenance required.

To maintain a well-organized and clean workstation and update required documentation to ensure accurate records. Dependability is an essential part of this job as well as the ability to team with co-workers.

What You'll Be Doing

• Adhere to all plant/OSHA guidelines and environment, health, and safety rules.

• Adhere to all JSA's pertaining to the extrusion line.

• Perform safety inspections and report all unsafe conditions or Near Miss events immediately.

• Wear all PPE as required.

• Follow all environmental and housekeeping requirements, properly dispose of trash, regularly sweep, keeping material, oil and water off floors.

• Perform work orders as assigned - daily - to include a wide variety of industrial mechanical repairs and/or basic electrical repairs.

• Housekeeping of areas worked in - daily.

• Shop housekeeping - weekly.

• Enter time in SAP work order system - daily.

• Checking out parts - daily.

• Preventative Maintenance - as assigned.

• Consistent and regular on-time attendance.

• Forklift operations.

• Other related job duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements

• An Associate's degree or equivalent certification from a technical school (AND);

• Two or more years of electro-mechanical maintenance experience (OR);

• An equivalent combination of education and experience.

• Flexibility to work on different shifts, and to rotate shifts as needed.

• Availability to be on-call on designated weekends.

Desired Qualifications

• Certification from a trade school.

• A proven track record of reliability (attendance).
