Job summary

Saint-Gobain is seeking a production operator to run and troubleshoot manufacturing lines, while ensuring safety, quality, and efficiency. You will work with teammates to maintain clean, stocked lines and support continuous improvement initiatives across shifts.

Responsibilities include operating equipment, managing scrap, communicating issues to supervisors, and contributing to a safe, productive environment. Physical tasks include lifting up to 80 lbs and standing long hours.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or GED preferred.
  • One-year manufacturing experience preferred.
  • Basic reading, writing, and arithmetic skills required.
  • Manual dexterity required for operating machinery and computer entry.

Job description

Responsible for operating all production equipment managing scrap and maintaining high productivity levels. Employees sustain a positive team environment, with a focus on Safety, Quality Assurance, and Efficiency.

Run efficient production lines, problem-solving to ensure products meet quality specifications, including checking product and equipment frequently, and making immediate adjustments or changes to lines when needed.

Keep lines and production floor clean and free of debris and stocked for the incoming shift.

Consistently communicate problems or needs with supervisor and assistant supervisor and communicate with all team members.

Work closely with team members to be more efficient, troubleshooting problems helping find new or better solutions, and asking for help when needed.

Participate in and promote safety, quality, and continuous improvement events and ideas.

Occasional lifting, pulling, and pushing up to 80LBS.

Shift/Schedule: During the training period, this position will be assigned to first shift (6:00 a.m.-2:00p.m.). There are three different shifts, M-F: 6:00a.m.- 2:00p.m., 2:00p.m.- 10:00p.m., and 10:00p.m. - 6:00a.m. Assignment to a specific shift after training is not guaranteed and will be made in accordance with the applicable collective bargaining agreement.

Annual incentive bonus can be as much as 21% of annual wages.

All candidates will receive a thorough background check before being hired, and post-hire employment physical and drug/alcohol testing is completed for all new hires
