Job summary

Saint-Gobain’s CertainTeed plant in the United States is seeking an Extrusion Operator to support millwork production. You will help operate and package lines, monitor QA checks, and maintain a clean, safe workstation.

You will follow OSHA guidelines, wear PPE, perform line inspections, and assist with forklift tasks while building reliability and on-time delivery.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required or equivalent.
• Two or more years of manufacturing experience preferred.
• Equivalent combination of education and experience accepted.
• Experience using hand tools and/or measuring devices.

Responsibilities

• Adhere to OSHA guidelines and environmental, health, and safety rules.
• Perform safety inspections and report unsafe conditions or near-miss events.
• Wear all required PPE.
• Keep work areas clean and dispose of waste properly.
• Package product per specification with correct palletization and labeling.
• Assist in operating the production line and learn required points.
• Perform quality checks and document results for dimensional and cosmetic standards.
• Operate forklift.
• Other related duties as assigned.

About the Role

Reporting to the Plant Superintendent, the Extrusion Operator assists in the safe operating and packaging of our millwork production lines. This role will maintain a well organized and clean workstation and update required documentation to ensure a quality product.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Adhere to all plant/OSHA guidelines and environment, health, and safety rules.

• Adhere to all JSA’s pertaining to the extrusion line.

• Perform safety inspections and report all unsafe conditions or Near Miss events immediately.

• Wear all PPE as required.

• Follow all environmental and housekeeping requirements, properly dispose of trash, regularly sweep, keeping material, oil and water off floors.

• Ensure line and workstation are clean prior to end of work shift.

• Package product per specification – proper palletization of product, correctly coded and properly placed labels, insert slip sheets, band product to pallet.

• Assist in the operation of the production line, learning all required points.

• Perform all quality checks, report all defects and ensure that product meets all dimensional and cosmetic standards, and properly document.

• Forklift operations.

• Other related job duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements

• A high school diploma or GED (AND);

• Two or more years of manufacturing experience (OR);

• Equivalent combination of education and experience.

• Experience using hand tools and/or measuring devices.

Desired Qualifications

• Certification from a trade school.

• A proven track record of reliability (attendance).
