Job summary

SURGE Staffing — Sidney, OH is seeking an experienced Maintenance Technician to support a food manufacturing facility by troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining production equipment to meet USDA/FDA food safety standards. The role involves electrical and mechanical troubleshooting, preventive maintenance, and installing and maintaining machinery.

You will read schematics, weld or fabricate parts, and keep accurate maintenance records.

Qualifications

• Experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
• Strong electrical and mechanical troubleshooting skills.
• Experience with PLCs, VFDs, and ammonia refrigeration systems is a plus.
• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Ability to work overtime.
• Comfortable working in a refrigerated environment (35°F–45°F).

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and repair electrical and mechanical equipment
• Perform preventive maintenance and emergency repairs
• Install, assemble, and maintain machinery and electrical systems
• Read and interpret schematics and equipment manuals
• Weld or fabricate parts as needed
• Maintain accurate maintenance records in a computerized system
• Follow all food safety, sanitation, and workplace safety procedures
• Support production and perform other maintenance duties as assigned

Qualifications & Requirements

• Maintenance experience in a manufacturing or food production environment preferred
• Strong electrical and mechanical troubleshooting skills
• Experience with PLCs, VFDs, and ammonia refrigeration systems is a plus
• High school diploma or GED preferred
• Ability to work overtime as needed
• Comfortable working in a refrigerated environment (35°F–45°F)
• Ability to lift up to 75 lbs. (with assistance) and work in a fast-paced environment
• Must be dependable, safety-focused, and able to work with a sense of urgency
