Job summary

Nolan Living in Roeland Park, KS is seeking a Maintenance Technician (HVAC Certified) to keep our communities running smoothly. You will perform preventive maintenance and repairs on HVAC systems, mechanical systems, and building structures, and participate in on‑call duties to respond to after‑hours emergencies.

This full‑time role requires HVAC certification and 4+ years of maintenance experience, with at least 3 years in a trade.

Qualifications

• HVAC certification is required.
• 4+ years of maintenance experience, with at least 3 years in a trade role.
• Strong knowledge of building systems, tools and safety procedures.
• Ability to lift up to 70 lbs and work in physically demanding environments.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to read and follow instructions.
• Proactive, team‑oriented mindset.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance and repairs on HVAC systems, mechanical systems, and building structures.
• Participate in on‑call for after‑hours emergencies.
• Troubleshoot and respond to service requests efficiently and professionally.
• Inspect equipment and facilities to ensure safety and operational readiness.
• Maintain tools, equipment, and inventory of supplies.
• Prepare reports, logs, and service documentation.
• Assist with renovation and construction projects as needed.

Requirements

What You’ll Bring:

• HVAC certification required
• 4+ years of maintenance experience, with at least 3 years in a trade‑specific role
• Strong knowledge of building systems, tools, and safety procedures
• Ability to lift up to 70 lbs and work in physically demanding environments
• Comfortable working at heights, in confined spaces, and in varying weather conditions
• Excellent communication skills
• Ability to read and follow written and verbal instructions
• A proactive, team‑oriented mindset

Additional Details:

• High school diploma or GED required
• Work may be performed on rooftops and require use of ladders or lift devices
• Work environment involves some exposure to hazards or physical risks, which require following basic safety precautions
