Banyan Treatment Centers in Rochester Hills, MI is seeking a Maintenance Technician to join our founding team for a new residential facility. The role covers launch readiness, ongoing repairs, and daily maintenance to keep the building safe and functional for patients and staff.

The position is full-time, on-site, with a schedule of Monday–Friday 8:30 AM–5:00 PM and after-hours or weekend work as needed. Join a mission-driven, healthcare-focused team opening a new treatment center.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 1+ years in building, facility, or residential maintenance.
• Working knowledge of plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and general repairs.
• Familiarity with building, safety, and health codes.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and climb ladders.
• Availability for after-hours and weekend work.

Responsibilities

• Facility launch readiness tasks: inspections, walkthroughs, and tracking open items.
• Receive, check, and manage deliveries of furniture, appliances, equipment, and supplies.

Schedule

Full-time, Monday through Friday, 8:30 AM–5:00 PM, with after-hours and weekend availability as needed.

This role is for a hands‑on tradesperson who takes pride in a well‑kept building, works well independently, and can balance launch deadlines with day‑to‑day repairs.

Key Responsibilities

Facility Launch Readiness

• Take part in pre-opening inspections and walkthroughs, and track open items through to completion.
• Receive, check, and manage deliveries of furniture, appliances, equipment, and supplies.
• Coordinate with vendors, contractors, and facility leadership to keep launch tasks on schedule.

Ongoing Maintenance & Repairs

• Perform maintenance tasks including plumbing, electrical work, carpentry, remodeling, renovations, and repairs.
• Install and maintain appliances, furniture, and fixtures.
• Monitor and respond to maintenance issues in a timely manner.
• Ensure compliance with building, safety, and health codes.
• Maintain the cleanliness, safety, and integrity of the entire facility.

Qualifications

Required

• High school diploma or GED.
• 1 or more years of experience in building, facility, or residential maintenance.
• Working knowledge of plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and general repair.
• Familiarity with building, safety, and health codes.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, climb ladders, and stay on your feet for extended periods.
• Availability for after-hours and weekend work as needed, and ability to manage multiple priorities and respond quickly to urgent repairs.

Preferred

• Maintenance experience in a healthcare, behavioral health, or residential care facility.
• Experience with new‑building openings, renovations, or punch‑list work.
• Knowledge of Joint Commission Environment of Care standards.
• Trade certification or license (e.g., HVAC, EPA Section 608, electrical, or plumbing).
