Maintenance Technician – Ranson, WV Factory
Pay: $36 – $44 per hour. Shift: 5:00AM‑5:00PM or 5:00PM‑5:00AM on a 2‑2‑3 schedule.
Overview
As a Maintenance Technician at ROCKWOOL, you will perform mechanical and electrical maintenance and troubleshooting on equipment in your assigned area. Reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor, you are responsible for servicing all company equipment within budget while identifying opportunities to improve plant operations.
Responsibilities
- Conduct advanced troubleshooting and investigation of mechanical and electrical equipment failures within assigned operational areas.
- Document all maintenance and repair activities to identify recurring issues and support the development of proactive maintenance strategies.
- Complete equipment and industrial machinery repairs and parts replacement when required while maintaining a stock of tools, parts and supplies needed to manage day‑to‑day maintenance.
- Provide electrical and instrumentation support to the functional area to ensure production can continue in a safe and effective manner.
- Install and maintain Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC) and perform electrical and PLC tasks including calibration, monitoring, repair and maintenance of transmitters, controllers, plant safety systems, power systems and sensors.
- Adhere to established ROCKWOOL safety, quality and environmental standards to identify and mitigate quality or environmental risks and issues.
- Work closely with operations teams and raise issues to the Maintenance Supervisor as needed.
Qualifications
- 2‑year degree or relevant certification or work experience.
- Minimum 3 years practical experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment and with automated equipment.
- Proficient knowledge of Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC)/Automation, specifically Siemens and Endress+Hauser instrumentation.
- Experience with welding, hydraulic, pneumatic and conveying systems.
- Basic computer knowledge and skills.
- Acute attention to detail.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Problem‑solving and troubleshooting skills.
