Job summary

ROCKWOOL is seeking a Maintenance Mechanic in Byhalia, MS to maintain stationary industrial machinery and support reliable plant operations on a 7 PM–7 AM 2-2-3 rotating schedule. You will work with the Maintenance Electrician and contractors to minimize downtime and keep production running smoothly.

Compensation is $32 per hour, plus a $1 shift differential, with a comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, vision, 401(k) matching, PTO and more.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• 3+ years of experience maintaining mechanical equipment in an industrial setting.
• Welding and burning skills, including MIG welding.
• Ability to troubleshoot mechanical equipment in an industrial setting.
• Ability to use a computer and communicate clearly in English with teams across departments.

Responsibilities

• Install, align, dismantle, and move stationary industrial machinery and equipment (pumps, fans, tanks, conveyors, furnaces, generators).
• Inspect machinery for irregularities or malfunctions and troubleshoot issues.
• Install, maintain, and repair power transmission, vacuum, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
• Adjust machinery and replace defective parts; fabricate parts with lathes and grinders when needed.
• Operate cranes, jacks, tractors, and other lifting devices during installation, setup, and repair.

Your Future Team

You’ll be part of a team dedicated to operational excellence. Working in our maintenance function, you’ll keep stationary industrial machinery and mechanical equipment operating safely and reliably. You’ll collaborate closely with the Maintenance Electrician and contractors as needed, while communicating across departments to ensure coordinated, efficient operations. By resolving equipment issues quickly and maintaining dependable plant operations, you directly reduce downtime and support consistent production that keeps our facility running at peak performance.

What You Bring

• High school diploma or equivalent
• At least 3 years of experience maintaining mechanical equipment in an industrial manufacturing environment
