Job summary

APG is seeking a Maintenance Technician in Punta Gorda, FL to ensure timely completion of service requests, participate in on-call rotations, and perform preventative and make-ready maintenance across properties. The role supports resident satisfaction and property operations.

The ideal candidate has a High School diploma or equivalent, training in HVAC, Plumbing, Electrical, or Appliance Repair, and strong communication and diplomatic skills with residents and vendors.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Special training and/or experience in HVAC, Plumbing, Electrical, and Appliance Repair.
• Good communication skills; ability to interact with residents, prospects, co-workers, and vendors.
• Self-motivated and able to complete assigned tasks with little supervision.
• Diplomatic in dealings with residents and ensure others on the maintenance staff are the same.

Responsibilities

• Complete service requests within 24 hours of assignment.
• Participate in the maintenance on-call rotation.
• Perform ongoing preventative maintenance tasks.
• Conduct make-ready maintenance for units.
• Undertake other duties and projects as assigned by management.

The Maintenance Technician position is considered vital to the overall operation of the property. Resident retention programs depend largely on the performance and professionalism of the Maintenance team, and total commitment to the position and property operations is paramount.

Job Details

• Location: Punta Gorda, FL - May be required to temporarily support other APG properties during emergencies or periods of operational need.
• Schedule: This position is not limited to a standard 40-hour workweek. Work hours may extend beyond regular business hours based on operational demands. Must be available to respond to emergency maintenance requests outside of regular business hours, as needed.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for timely completion (24 hours) of service requests as assigned by the Supervisor.
• Participation in the maintenance on-call rotation is required.
• Ongoing preventative maintenance.
• Make-ready maintenance.
• Other duties and projects deemed necessary by management.
• Basic aptitude in apartment maintenance-related areas.
• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Special training and/or experience may be required in one or more of the following areas: HVAC, Plumbing, Electrical, and Appliance Repair.
• Good communication skills; ability to interact with residents, prospects, co-workers, and vendors.
• Must be self-motivated and able to complete assigned tasks with little or no supervision.
